Respirator Masks

During disease outbreaks such as the current COVID-19 environment, the CDC has made recommendations for healthcare workers to use a mask with particulate respirators, as protective as an N95 or equivalent. These respirators are designed to help reduce the wearer’s exposure to airborne particulate hazards they may inhale, including bio-aerosols - bacteria and viruses - and non-biological aerosols. Respirators contain filter material, designed to form a seal with the wearer’s face so air passes through the filter before inhalation.

Hand Sanitizer

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention launched “Life is Better with Clean Hands”, a new national campaign designed to motivate adults to make clean hands part of their daily lives. The CDC recommends washing hands with soap and water whenever possible because handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs and chemicals on hands. But if soap and water are not available, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

Medical Gloves

Gloves and other personal protective equipment are vital in healthcare settings where people are likely to have more exposure and more direct contact. Gloves help protect patients and providers from a variety of infections, including COVID-19. Protocols state how these medical gloves are chosen, used, and how to dispose of them.

Sanitizing Wipes

Cleaning and sanitizing are two things you should be doing regularly to keep your home and office generally clean and free of dirt, allergens, and day-to-day germs. Disinfecting, on the other hand, is something you should do if you think COVID-19 or another virus is present.

Healthcare workers commonly use surgical/procedure masks for patient care.
